MW207 was initially issued to 246 Squadron at Holmsley South and later transferred to 511 Squadron at Lyneham where it was written off in a crash. It did not take part in the Berlin Airlift but as the Yorks played a major part in that operation it seemed the appropriate aircraft to use to visit RAF Gatow, the main base in the British sector of Berlin. Gatow is now the Luftwaffe Museum so landed at Templehof instead. Returned to Wendling via Holmsley South and Lyneham.
